What´s Open Doors

Open Door's vision is of a world in which every Christian who is persecuted is remembered and supported by other Christians.

We seek to alleviate their suffering, and to help them extend God's Kingdom in their part of the world.

    When ?

When severe suffering and restriction hits the Church, Open Doors is usually among the first to respond.

Open Doors is not limited to any one way of helping the Church, but our practice is to first ask the Christian leaders what their needs are. Then we will use many innovative and strategic ways to answer their calls for help.

    Where ?

Open Doors work has extended to Asia, SE Asia, Africa, Latin America, Central Asia and the Middle East.

    What ?

In a nutshell, Open Doors does whatever it can to support God's global church. Open Doors visits Christian prisoners and encourages them during their trials. We also send loads of letters, faxes and emails to encourage families and Christian prisoners.

These letters remind them that they are not forgotten by the global Christian community.
We also offer literacy and livelihood opportunities to hundreds of desperately poor believers; transform countless communities with health and farming projects; provide places of refuge for those in danger; and personally encourage thousands of isolated believers in dangerous and violent areas.

    Why ?

It's hard for us to imagine what it's like to be persecuted, but persecution is the type of thing that impacts your whole life! In Galatians 6:10 God urges us to take care of his church because that's the vehicle he uses to reach the world.
